    Biography

    Dr. Ledesma is a clinical instructor at the University of California, San Francisco and is interested in acute care surgery and colorectal surgery. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in biology. She received an M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. She also has an interest in global surgery and has worked with the Center for Global Surgical Studies to develop and implement a sustainable surgical registry in Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, a district hospital in Eastern Uganda. The registry will help determine what factors within the system can be adjusted to improve surgical access, outcomes, morbidty and mortality, define the burden of surgical disease and also examine the barriers and facilitators to surgical care.
